FoundryInk Changelog
What is new on FoundryInk, newest first. This page tracks the features and fixes
that ship to creators, studios, and readers. For a full how-to, see the Guide.
v0.10.0 (2026-06-29)
Cameos
- A cameo splash overlay can now play as a one-shot animation, running once and
then resting on its final frame, instead of always looping.
Navigation
- Public gallery pages now use the standard breadcrumb navigation, matching the
rest of the site.
v0.9.0 (2026-06-29)
For readers
- A reader engagement layer: earn badges, take on challenges and missions, and
build a public reader profile with stats and a tier. Keep a wishlist, show off
a showcase, and follow an activity feed of what you have been reading.
Community
- Community rooms now have their own identity (name, banner, and description), and
rooms surface the genres they are about so the right people can find them.
v0.8.0 (2026-06-29)
Community
- Reading clubs are now part of community rooms, one place for every group
conversation. Existing clubs and their members, messages, and page notes carry
over automatically. Rooms come in a few kinds: open to everyone, or scoped to a
project, a studio, or a genre.
v0.7.0 (2026-06-29)
Growth
- Coupons: issue discount codes (a percentage or a flat amount) scoped to a whole
studio, a project, or a single work, with usage limits and expiry.
- Affiliates: run a referral program. Track who sent a sale and pay them a
commission, set as a percentage or a flat amount.
Reading
- Tightened the previous and next navigation on landing-page assets so it only
shows where it makes sense.
v0.6.0 (2026-06-29)
Galleries
- Galleries now carry a genre, the same as every other kind of work on the
platform. A genre badge shows on the gallery page, and galleries surface in the
same genre-based discovery as comics and books.
v0.5.0 (2026-06-29)
Reading
- Every asset now has previous and next navigation, so readers can move through a
studio's work without going back to the index each time.
Orders and fulfilment
- Order lifecycle: buyers can cancel within a short window, every order now carries
carrier tracking and an estimated delivery date, and shipping addresses are
checked at checkout to cut down on failed deliveries.
- Print sizes are capped to what the in-house press supports, so every order is
printable.
Trust and safety
- Studios can be suspended and infringing content taken down in response to a
valid complaint, with a clear record of why.
v0.4.0 (2026-06-28)
Polish
- The Chill Player shows a small animated wave under its toggle when minimized,
instead of a plain line.
- Native date and time pickers now follow the theme, so the picker icon is
readable on the dark theme instead of black on black.
- A reading club's chat is now titled by the club name instead of showing
"Personal Notes".
v0.3.0 (2026-06-28)
Community
- Reading clubs work again: creating a club no longer errors, the "Start a club"
button is hidden when you are not eligible, and any problem surfaces a clear
message instead of failing silently.
Galleries
- Studio pages now carry a first-class Galleries tab.
- Gallery cards fall back to the first image as their cover when none is set.
- Fixed the print price-override field so it reads correctly on the dark theme.
Events
- The events calendar shows even when there is nothing scheduled yet, and an
event time is now optional (date-only events are fine).
- The platform-wide events calendar paginates and has broader search.
Browse and forms
- A "Takes commissions" badge on Browse studio cards, so readers can spot
creators open for custom work at a glance.
- When a form shows an error, the offending field is now highlighted in red.
v0.2.0 (2026-06-28)
Studio
- Events calendar: announce a convention, signing, or live session. Publish it to
your public timeline, share it to your connected social accounts, and let
followers see what is coming up. Virtual join links stay gated to followers.
- Galleries and art prints: build a portfolio of standalone art, separate from
your comics. Mark any piece sellable as a print and readers can order it through
the same checkout, with sizes, paper stocks, and per-size pricing.
Creator tools
- The assistant can now do more on your behalf: manage question sessions and task
cards, generate QR codes, update the changelog, set a reading mode, configure a
banner visual novel, and pull reader insights, all from a chat.
v0.1.0 (2026-06-28)
Reading
- Behind the scenes extras: a comic or zine issue can now carry a bonus reel of
process art, deleted and alternate pages, creator commentary, and a
post-credits stinger. Subscriber-gated extras stay locked until a reader earns
them; post-credits rewards are always shown to anyone who finishes the issue.
- Vertical scroll reading mode: read an issue as one long, continuous strip, or
keep the classic page-by-page flip. Creators set a series default and readers
can switch in the reader.
- Studio page sidebar: a studio's public page now carries a sticky sidebar with
the subscription, open question sessions, and series widgets, hiding itself when
there is nothing to show.
Studio
- Commissions storefront: a studio can offer custom work, set a price, slots, and
turnaround, take a buyer brief at checkout, collect payment, and deliver the
finished file or ship a physical piece with tracking. Buyers manage their orders
from their library.
- Creator reader analytics: a Readers dashboard with view counts, completion
rates, and per-series drop-off, counting both signed-in and anonymous audiences.
- Work board and due dates: a studio-wide work board, card due dates, turning a
comment into a task, and workflow conditioning on a project.
- Editorial calendar: a cross-project timeline with a fourteen-day velocity
projection and campaign deadlines.
- Task blockers: an asset board can now express card-to-card dependencies as an
advisory graph.
Community and growth
- Question sessions (open studio Q and A): readers ask, creators answer, and an
open session can be shared to a studio's connected social accounts.
- Crowdfunding: a series page can carry a campaign rail with a creator backer
ledger.
- Reader depth: fan collections, reading clubs, and per-issue release notes.
- Global search: search by keyword, genre, and tag across the public catalog,
with filter chips on the results page.
Platform
- Installable app: add FoundryInk to your home screen, with an offline page and an
install prompt.
- Browse spotlight hero: a full-bleed, edge-to-edge spotlight at the top of
Browse, pageable by mouse or trackpad gesture.
- Account-wide reading and playback preferences, plus a cameo opt-out.
- The Chill Player: a license-free, pinnable background music player across the
public site and the studio, with an admin music console to manage the catalog.
- Cameos: a project can author a troupe of collectible cameos with an optional
splash overlay.
Foundations
The platform creators build on every day:
- Studios, projects, and issues, with a full publishing flow and a reader that
serves comics, books, slideshows, comic strips, presentations, games, visual
novels, download packs, and merch.
- Muse and the Codex: the assistant layer that helps import existing work,
maintain a story Codex, and keep character notes in sync.
- The in-house print shop: order-ready proofs, a printer sign-off step, and
print-on-demand, with self-fulfilment for creators who ship their own stock.
- Sales, tips, subscriptions, and payouts, plus creator approval and account
security with new-device alerts and sign-in history.
